I might call them grotesques, in the very best of ways, definitely made more so for the toll the years have taken on them, rendering them hyper crusty and pretty surreal. Our man on the left, with black hair and bowtie, I believe was like meant to represent Jack Kletch, "the hangman", who would arrive to punish Mr. Punch, only to himself be tricked
