and with this terrific hand-painted lettering over old gray paint seeming to have covered some even earlier

And what a pretty and serene one this is, almost perfectly round, feeling like a gulp of sky. In excellent condition, a sort of soft blue purple, with some mottling to the glaze and a bit of variation on one side.
