Watercolor of a Gladiola, From Nature, by Marian Marcelin, 1878 Cuban souvenir Jackstraws average about 4 1/2"I bought and sold a couple of other 19th century watercolors by this same Marian Marcelin a few months ago, then went back to my source last week and found a couple more. Marian did love her flowers! And she rendered them with a lot of care and attention to detail noting here "drawn from nature," and "Mrs. Woodrick Sea Cliff," I presume describing the location where this particular gladiola was blooming in September of 1878. Lovely, and the green of
