Girl with Basket, 1885 Wonderfully Strange Graphite Drawing small treen box which I find a prettyIf you perceive this drawing as if our girl is looking straight ahead rather than down with lids closed, it becomes a bit of an eerie one, as if she were possessed by otherworldly forces! But even if one reads her eyes as closed, its still got a wonderful sort of strangeness, with her hat looking as if might be concealing a rising loaf of bread!
