Burne Jones (1833 1898) painting 'The Star of Bethlehem' in his studio. One of the second wave of Pre Raphaelite painters and initially much influenced by William Morris and Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Burne Jones gave up his plans to enter the priesthood to become a painter in the late 1850s.
