This more obviously structured effort is almost delicate at present though I suspect that the mid-palate will further flesh out with bottle age
More subtle though still prominent oak can be found on the much more reserved red currant and dark berry-suffused nose that displays an astonishing array of spice
Fleur Cardinale other_regions The 2016 Syrah Cailloux VineyardThis for me has a better balance than the 2009, same alcohol but here it is effortlessly eaten up by the rich dark fruits, with cassis, blueberry, bilberry and blackberry all apparent, with texture and juice. Its gourmet, with a black chocolate, slightly bitter edge, even with traces of menthol as the Cabernets take the lead here. Small yield at 36hl ha. Harvest October 18 right through to November 5, which sounds extreme but bear in mind this is the
