Cabin, Lovely Small Antique Painting on Oiled Canvas Over Wood, Signed Hicks mid-century gift with a few tiny surfaceOne of two by the same maker I purchased at the New Hampshire antique show, both painted on waxed canvas stretched over solid wood panel, with the waxing of the canvas lending an delicate, atmospheric quality that photos can't quite capture. And the soft, subtle palette on this one makes lends it a particular sort of otherworldliness, as if hovering in the space of one's memory. The door of this lonely little cabin reads 4th Sec Co H, which I presume
