Alfio Mozzi Rosso di Valtellina 2023 Domaine Michel Gros 2022 preserving the grape's aromatic characterNebbiolo from the steep schist terraces of Valtellina, where the grape is called Chiavennasca and behaves nothing like its Piedmontese cousin. Alfio Mozzi is a third generation grower in Castione Andevenno on the western edge of the Sassella zone, farming 3. 5 hectares of free draining schist between 350 and 550 meters elevation, much of it on terraces his grandfather built. The Rosso is the entry into his range: lighter on its feet than Sassella,
