Nicolas Faure trained at Domaine de la Romanee Conti and with Jean Louis Chave before building his own tiny domaine from scratch around Meuilley in the Cote de Nuits, farming organically and vinifying with whole clusters and minimal sulfur. This Merlot is a deliberate oddity: a Vin de France bottling from a grape you almost never see in Burgundy, made with the same low intervention, freshness
