Antique American Empire Mahogany Pedestal Sewing / Work Table, New York, circa 1840 Recently Added 5" long X 4A good antique American Empire period flame mahogany work table, New York, circa 1840. The table made from flame mahogany and having three drawers, the top with a fitted interior, the third drawer with a pleated satin fabric embroidery 'basket' (fabric is fitted around a wooden carcass). Each drawer having twin turned handles inset with an ivory inlay, the base drawer with a carved cartouche to the center and the underside having a compressed ball
