Only one end of the fitting's slip section has a stop, allowing the other end to slide further onto the end of a pipe. A small section of pipe is removed to install a slip fitting. Then push the long end of the fitting's slip section onto the pipe. Use a disconnect tool to press against the release collar on the long end
